The Telegraph posted an article about cycling accident black spots in London yesterday, it features a detailed interactive map about the 4,274 reported accidents on London’s roads between August 2010 and July 2011.
It may all seem a bit bleak but the amount of accidents in relation to the amount of people cycling in London daily is very small, I certainly wouldn’t consider taking a different route based on the map, maybe just be extra careful when riding through the most dangerous areas.
Personally I love riding in London and generally feel much safer than at home despite the greatly increased number of cars in such a small area. I think drivers there are far more aware of cyclists than in smaller cities.
What are you thoughts on riding in your city? Do you think it’s safe or not? Hit up the comments and make sure you forward this map to your friends in London so that they can be well informed…
