Today I went along to the Jättömaa Konttiaukio race, it was an urban cyclocross type affair with a really cool course that saw the racers weaving in and out of shipping containers and boats as well as hitting areas of stoney wasteland and piled up stuff.
As with the last cyclocross race I went to all types of bikes were racing: fixed gear, singlespeed, mountain, cyclocross and even a small wheeled commuter.
Everyone looked like they were having a great time, there was more smiling and beer drinking than competing.
I didn’t stay to the end because my fingers and toes froze to the point where they would have shattered if hit. Nobody else seemed to be particularly cold but the 0° temperature got to me after a while. I’m sure the results will be posted here.
